Here are some photos taken throughout the placement...
The organization of the classroom is a huge component to classroom organization. By having the layout and processes of the classroom well thought out allowed each day to flow smoothly, efficiently, and allowed students to be more independent. Not only is it important to have a organized layout, but the students have to be familiar with the layout and classroom procedures as well. On the very first day Mrs. Seluga took the time to give a room tour and go over ever classroom procedure. This is something I would definitely use in my classroom. Here are some examples of Mrs. Seluga’s classroom.
Here are some pictures taken as I teach the problem of the day. There are also pictures of charts and bulletin boards I made.
The following pictures are from APEX. This is a program where the fifth and sixth grades walk to Lehman College where they can play all kinds of different sports. They go every Friday morning. I volunteered to coach track. I would have a group of about 15 kids at a time and teach them different stretches and drills. I had limited facilities so I had to think of creative track related games. It was a great experience because I learned how to manage a large group of students outside the classroom. I was also able to manage a smaller group of students who were not my own and organize athletic activities. It made me very aware of all of the safety concerns and possible ways students could become injured as well.
